The Honourable Bernard Charnwut CHAN, GBS, JP

My congratulations to the Open University of Hong Kong on its 30th anniversary! In the last three decades, OUHK has grown from a pioneering distance-learning institute into one of Hong Kong’s major universities. It has been a leader in offering an extensive choice of self-financing courses, and it has become a popular choice for full-time first degree and postgraduate students. But at the same time, it has built on its original foundations to offer part-time and distance-learning opportunities to people who might not otherwise be able to access university courses. So as well as meeting our city’s rising demand for tertiary education, OUHK has developed a distinctive range of study models that makes learning accessible throughout the community. Everyone associated with OUHK can be very proud of the Institution’s contribution to its graduates’ lives and careers, and to Hong Kong. My best wishes for continued success in the years to […]

It gives me great pleasure offering my warmest congratulations to The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) on the occasion of your 30th Anniversary. The Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) has established the most valuable partnership with the OUHK since 2006 in enriching the police foundation training with academic learning. All these years, we have worked hand in hand to provide quality education and promote lifelong learning. We are incredibly proud to be associated with the OUHK, which developed its students including many serving police officers and created knowledge in ways that have been best for purpose and right for the times. It is rewarding to see the great progress that your university has achieved and the contributions that your students bring to the society. We wish OUHK, all students and staff continued success in your future endeavors, and look forward to many years of further collaboration ahead.
